Call care is pretty simple. There are a few things you need to know how to do to take care of a call;
Change cork regularly- Corks need to be changed every few days if the call is being used regularly. This just requires inserting new cork in the notch and trimming the ends off with a razor knife.
Change reeds/retune- Reeds don’t usually need to be changed unless they split (delaminate) or become bent etc. Tuning is something everyone should become comfortable with on their own. Grab a new reed, flex it, the bend goes downward against the toneboard and just trim it down to the length that works for you. Small increments, a tiny sliver can make a big difference.
Keep calls clean and dry- let calls dry out after use by pulling them apart and make sure you clean the toneboard up when it becomes dirty with a toothbrush soap and water.
If you have any issues with a call, need a call retuned and rather not tackle it yourself, or need more reeds and corks or a new O-ring, or just want to get a call shined back up again, I’d be glad to help. The fastest way to get in touch is probably a message on Instagram (@deltamadecalls) or Facebook (DeltaMade Calls).
Thanks- Colton
